5 Reasons to Book a Halloween on the High Seas Disney Cruise

We love taking a Halloween on the High Seas Disney Cruise! No-one  does holiday celebrations better than Disney. If you’ve been to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom or Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland, then you know what I’m talking about. Halloween-on-the-High-Seas is the Disney Cruise Line equivalent of these events and occurs on almost all sailings September through October. It is not to be missed and here’s why…

5. Haunted Stories by the Sea

HAUNTED STORIES BY THE SEA

On select nights you can venture onto the main pool deck of the ship and gather in front of the jumbo screen to hear haunted sea tales told my a mysterious sea man. Who doesn’t love a good family ghost story under a starry sky?

4. Adult-Only Halloween Offerings

One of the best qualities about sailing on a Disney Cruise is the adult-only offerings, and Halloween on the High Seas is no different. Disney offers an adult-only costume contest and dance party — the perfect way to celebrate! There will even be Shutter photographers on hand to take professional portraits of you in your costume.

3. Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party

It’s time to stock up on candy! Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party is where the entire family can get dressed in their Halloween costumes, go trick-or-treating, and interact with Mickey and all his friends — dressed in their own Halloween costumes. You don’t want to miss this one as the character dancing is ah-mazing — especially Chip and Dale, who broke it down hard core on our cruise.

2. The Pumpkin Tree

As soon as you board the ship and enter the atrium you won’t be able to miss The Pumpkin Tree. Each cruise ship has it’s own unique tree with its own unique face. Throughout the cruise The Pumpkin Tree blooms until full-faced jack-o-lanterns hang from it. The last night of the cruise they even light-up and sing a not-so-scary song!

1. A Nightmare Before Christmas — Sing and Scream

Hands down, this is the best part of Halloween on the High Seas. You’re entire family can watch Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D COMBINED with 4D effects. We’re talking special show lighting, fog, and even snow! They also sell cute Zero popcorn containers that make great keepsakes. And right after the movie’s over, Jack and Sally make a live appearance. You can even take pictures with them and get their autograph!
