I have lots of friends and family who just aren’t ‘into’ the Disney theme park scene. They’d prefer to spend their hard-earned vacation dollars traveling to different parts of the world — immersing themselves in different cultures, learning about history, and interacting with the locals. I always ask them, “If you want to explore the world, why not go on an Adventure by Disney? Their response is predictable, “What’s the difference if I go with Disney or not?” Well… today I’m going answer that very question and explain the Disney difference.
1. ADVENTURE GUIDES
Every Adventure by Disney is lead by two Adventure Guides — not tour guides. I know what you’re thinking – same difference. But in actuality, they’re very different. Adventure Guides are trained story tellers. They’re not there to lecture you; they’re there to entertain you. Sure, you’ll still get all the historical information, it just won’t be boring. It will be fun! In addition, one of your Adventure Guides will be local expert. Someone who’s actually lived in and understands the country your visiting.
2. ACTIVITIES
An Adventures by Disney vacation is not one of those vacations where you’re just hopping from one tourist spot to the next, taking selfies in front of historical landmarks and points of interest. Nope. Your vacation is going to be filled with family activities — like whitewater rafting in Montana, Venetian mask-making in Italy, or learning martial arts in Asia.
3. AUTHENTICITY
What’s the main reason people travel around the world? To experience the tradition, culture, and people! With Adventures by Disney you get to actively participating in the rituals and customs of each location you visit — paint boomerangs with the Tjapukai tribe in Australia, learn the art of Peruvian weaving in Peru, or try the “Horos” – Greek dancing – in Greece!
4. INSIDER ACCESS
With the name Disney, comes special, behind the scenes access that most tourist groups never get. From a private VIP tour of the Vatican, to exclusive dinner in Edinburgh castle, to a private screening in Lucas Film Headquarters — you will be blown away at the red-carpet treatment you receive on an Adventure by Disney.
