Last December, I spent an entire weekend at Universal Orlando, visiting the parks and exploring Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
It’s a resort that I’d been dying to visit because I love the bygone era of the 50’s and I heard they had an indoor bowling alley and an insane fitness studio. (Yes, I LOVE to work out and hit the weights — even during vacation.)
Needless to say, it’s been a resort on my list to visit for quite sometime, and I was thrilled to finally get the chance and see if it lived up to the all hype. And guess what?
It did! There’s so many things to love about this resort. The 1950’s theming and decor was even better than I had imagined. The Jack LaLanne Fitness Studio was incredible — a mixture of both history/nostalgia along with all best fitness equipment I’ve seen at ANY resort property in Orlando. (Yep, even beating out the Disney resorts).
And while the room wasn’t exactly luxurious — it was still very nice. (After all, Cabana Bay does fall in the value resort category). The decor stayed in line with the fun and colorful vibe of the rest of the resort, and I noticed that the soap and other bathroom freebies had throw-back wrappers to the 50’s. Very cool!
And let’s not forget the Galaxy Bowling Alley — and even a dedicated entrance to Universal’s Volcano Bay!
