No. Due to legal and risk management reasons, Royal Caribbean has kindly asked that we refrain from dressing up in clown or bring any performance props onboard the cruise.

If you attempt to bring performance items onboard, security is authorized to confiscate any items they deem a hazard, security issue, or inappropriate, and hold onto them for the entire duration of the cruise. If this occurs, the items will be returned once you disembark.

However, please DO bring a photo of you in clown for our group photo!

The official pre-cruise hotel for the reunion is The Westin, located at LAX. There is a complimentary shuttle service to and from LAX to the Westin.

Westin Los Angeles Airport
5400 West Century Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90045
(310) 216-5858

For general hotel information, click HERE to be directed to their website.

Please Note: The window to book using our group block has ended.

We suggest carpooling with friends via a ride share app such as Lyft or Uber. This was less expensive than securing a group shuttle transfer and provides added flexibility since boarding times will vary for each individual travel party.

The cruise terminal is approximately 40 minutes from the Westin LAX. Given the unpredictability of Los Angeles traffic, we suggest giving yourself at least an hour if not more.

San Pedro World Cruise Terminal
100 Swinford Street
San Pedro, CA 90731

We recommend parking at the San Pedro Cruise Terminal. Parking is free for the first hour and $2/hour thereafter ($20 maximum/day). No reservations are required. A shuttle is offered from the parking structure to the cruise ship terminals.

The automatic service gratuity is USD 16.00 per person, per day for guests in Junior Suites and below, or USD 18.50 per person, per day for guests in Grand Suites and above, applied to each guest’s SeaPass account on a daily basis. The tip applies to individual guests of all ages and stateroom categories. As a way to reward RCCL crew members for their outstanding service, tips are shared between dining, bar & culinary services staff, stateroom attendants and other hotel services teams who work behind the scenes to enhance the cruise experience.

In the unlikely event that a guest onboard being charged the daily automatic tip does not receive satisfactory service, the guest may request to modify the daily amount at their discretion by visiting Guest Services onboard and will be able to do so until the morning of their departure. Guests who have pre-paid their tips will not see a daily charge during their cruise.

The automatic daily gratuity is based on customary industry standards. Applying this charge automatically helps to streamline the recognition process for the crew members that work to enhance your cruise. We hope you find the gratuity to be an accurate reflection of your satisfaction and thank you for your generous recognition of our staff.

A 18% tip is automatically added to all drinks, mini bar items and spa & salon purchases.

*Pre-paid tips can be added to an individual reservation at any time before 48 hours of the sail date. You will need to contact Laura Morrison if you would like to pre-pay your cruise gratuities. Her email is lmorrison@magiclampvacations.com.

Not sure if you’ve prepaid your gratuities? It’s easy to check!

Login HERE. Click on your Cruise Summary Documents. And go to the top of page 3. You will see either a “Yes” or a “No” under Prepaid Gratuities.

Everyone will need a valid passport with an expiration date no sooner than 8/16/24 or…

If you are using a birth certificate:
  • It must be a state-certified birth certificate issued by the government. No “baby feet” certificates, no hospital birth certificates, and no baptismal papers.
  • You must present the original copy, no photo copies.
  • You must also show a valid government issued photo ID, like a driver’s license.
  • Guests 15 and under do not need to show to show an ID, just the birth certificate.

Puerto Rican birth certificates issued prior to July 1, 2010 are not valid. The government of Puerto Rico has partnered with VitalChek.com to issue new birth certificates.

If you are using a birth certificate and your name has changed from the last name on your birth certificate IE: Married names, you must bring a:
  • State, county or province-issued marriage license
  • Divorce decree
  • Government-issued name change document
  • Official adoption papers

Traveling with a child that is not your own?

Are you traveling with a grandchild, niece, nephew, or other child that you are not the guardian of? When a minor (age 17 and under) travels without their legal guardian, an accompanying adult must present a notarized form signed by the child’s guardian. This ensures the child has the guardian’s consent to leave the country and participate in release-form activities onboard.

DOWNLOAD MINOR CONSENT FORM

Different last names

If your child has a different last name than you, you will need to bring an official supporting document to help explain why the names are different. The supporting document must be the original, or a notarized copy. Some examples of valid supporting documents:

  • State, county or province-issued marriage license
  • Divorce decree
  • Government-issued name change document
  • Official adoption paper

Don’t Pack Your Docs!
Please keep all travel documents on your person at the terminal; you’ll need to present them at check-in.

Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use.

Alcoholic beverages (beer, seltzer, or hard liquor) seized on embarkation day will be returned at the end of the voyage provided that they are in the original sealed package. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage, etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under the legal drinking age, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them. Please Note: All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids.

On embarkation day, each guest of drinking age may bring one (1) sealed 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne. Boxed wine and other containers are prohibited. Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the one permitted bottle on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home.

For consecutive sailings, guests of drinking age are allowed to bring one (1) 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne for each individual sailing. Additional bottles will be stored by the ship and delivered, one bottle at a time, to the stateroom on the first day of each new voyage. Guests bringing more than one bottle at the start of the first sailing should have documentation for any consecutive sailings available to share with security.

Checking-In & Boarding

Once you arrive at the cruise terminal, you will be able to leave your suitcase (with your self-printed luggage tags attached) with the porter. They will be scanned and loaded onto the ship. Porters will then place them outside your cabin.

After dropping off your luggage, you will make your way into the terminal, check-in presenting your cruise documents, and go through cruise security — much like TSA at the airport.

Remember — if you are bringing a bottle of wine or bubbles, you must carry it on the ship with you and not in your checked luggage.

After checking-in and going through security, you will have a seat in the terminal lobby and wait for your boarding group number to be called. Once you hear the number over the loud speaker, you will make your way onto the ship!

After Boarding

Once on board, you can modify or make specialty dining reservations, visit the port excursions desk, set up your internet package, and grab that refillable resort mug if you purchased a beverage package.

We suggest getting something to eat from the Windjammer buffet located on Deck 11, or visiting one of the main dining rooms that will be open for lunch service.

After that, feel free to roam around and check out the ship!

Your cabin will not be ready until around 2:00 p.m. or a bit after, as they must be cleaned from the prior sailing.

However, you can still go by your room and grab your Sea Pass Cards off your stateroom door. That’s what you’ll use for your beverage package! They will already be active so you can stop by any of the bars onboard and grab a cocktail!

Mandatory Safety Briefing

It’s a safety requirement that you and everyone in your travel party complete your safety briefing (Muster Drill). You can do this on your phone or watch it on your stateroom cabin TV, but this must be completed before the captain can set sail.

After you watch your safety briefing, you will be instructed to report to your Muster Station to check in with the crew members there. They will scan your Sea Pass Cards. You are then free to start enjoying the ship!

Special Note: Please don’t be ‘one of those people’ that ignores the Safety Drill and doesn’t check in at your station… Yes, they will call you out over the PA and announce that the following guests have not completed their safety briefing. They will continue this until all guests on board have completed it.

Listen for the Announcement That Cabins are Ready

When they announce that cabins are ready, you can make your way back to your cabin and start unpacking!

Sail Away Party

Once it’s time to set sail on the high seas, there will be a Sail Away Party held on the main pool deck. You can wave to all the people still stuck on land as we sail away! This should be held at 4:00 p.m., but please check the official Royal Caribbean Cruise Line app.

Dinner

Everyone from our party has early dining at 5:30pm. So, after the sail away party, you can return to your cabin to get ready or head directly to the dining room and enjoy your first dinner at sea with everyone from the reunion.
Bring any prescriptions or over-the-counter medicines you may need with you, as they can be substantially more expensive once onboard. We recommend Bonine for motion sickness. In our own personal and professional experience, this seems to be one of the best. This is also what the ship will give you if you go to the customer service desk.

Again, regular over the counter meds are available in the shops but they are pricey. Please pack your own Tylenol, Advil and Tums. We always throw in some DayQuil just in case, along with allergy meds.

Side Note: If you go to the clinic onboard, yes they will have a licensed medical doctor to examine and diagnose you. However, they will immediately charge you for the visit and any tests they perform. They DO NOT file with insurance.
The ship will most likely be ready to disembark around 7:30 a.m. — barring any hold up with customs when we arrive back in port.

You will need your Sea Pass Card to disembark the ship. Do not pack it or leave it in your cabin!

The night before we arrive, they will offer you tags for your luggage. You can put the tags on your luggage and leave your luggage out in the hall to be picked up for you by the porters. Each luggage tag has a group number on it. They will call group numbers in the morning, notifying you that it’s your time to leave the ship. You will then reclaim your luggage after disembarking into the cruise terminal.

You can also opt to carry off your own luggage when the ship is cleared by port authorities. If you elect to do this, you will not leave your bags outside your stateroom. You will simply leave your cabin in the morning, luggage in tow, and “walk off” the ship. If you have a flight to catch before 12 noon, we would recommend this option and grab either a Lyft or Uber to head directly toward the airport.

If you drove to the port, we would also recommend you carry off your own luggage to expedite the disembarkation process.

The only true downside to “walking off” is that the elevators can become crowded and busy on disembarkation day. You will either have to wait, or carry your luggage down the stairs. So, please keep this in mind — especially if your stateroom is located on an upper deck.
